Rhinopoxy
2-Part Water Epoxy
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
RHINOPOXY is a two part, water-borne epoxy. Unlike traditional epoxies, this water based epoxy is ecofriendly, low odor, and easy to apply. RHINOPOXY provides a high-gloss, hard finish that can protect a wide variety of surfaces. RHINOPOXY is tintable and benefits include chemical/solvent resistance and excellent hide.
PRODUCT USES
RHINOPOXY should only be used in covered spaces. RHINOPOXY should not be applied to areas with direct sunlight exposure. RHINOPOXY is ideal for surfaces continually cleaned or exposed to water. Common uses include shower stalls, locker rooms, hospitals, restaurant kitchens, packing plants, car wash bays, restrooms, schools, railings, manufacturing equipment and parking garages.
PRIMERS
For many applications, no primer is required; examples include properly prepared concrete floors, concrete walls, ceramic tile, non-ferrous metals (such as aluminum), and applications over existing acrylic/latex paint. For wood, apply a stain-blocking primer prior to RHINOPOXY. Ferrous Metal should be primed with Rhino Rust Bond when rust is present. New drywall must be primed with NATURE’S-COTE CERAMIC PRIMER.
SURFACE PREPARATION
A clean, dry, tight surface is required. Cleanse all dirt, grease, chemicals, and soap residue. Remove mold and mildew with a chlorine solution (1 to 8 ratio of pool chlorine to water). Further dispose of any loose paint or foreign material by pressure or scrapping. Concrete must be acid etched twice to ensure proper penetration. Acid etch until pores are visible in the surface. Rinse surface thoroughly.
MIXING
The epoxy and amine (activator) are packaged separately. Mix the two at a 3:1 ratio. Stir each separate component prior to mixing, then mix 3 parts epoxy to 1 part amine. Power stir or agitate, then let mixture sit for 15 minutes. DO NOT THIN. The average pot life is 2 to 3 hours depending on the temperature and humidity. COLORING: The epoxy may be tinted. Tint Part A (epoxy) before mixing with Part B.
APPLICATION
Apply using airless sprayer, brush or roller. Use tip size of .013 to start. Spread evenly. Two coats are ideal especially for floors. Re-coat time is 12 to 24 hours. Allow surface to dry a minimum of 36 hours for foot traffic.
CLEAN UP
Clean up all spills and overspray immediately while the coating is still wet with warm soapy water. Xylene may be used for final rinse of tools and equipment.
