Super Shield Flat Roof
SUPER SHIELD is a bright white acrylic elastomeric roof coating. This ceramic formula offers substantial waterproofing and insulation benefits. SUPER SHIELD forms a thick rubber like membrane with excellent flexibility and tensile strength. Easy to apply, the roof coating extends the life of the roof, is cheaper than reroofing, provides a layer of leak protection, and is mold resistant.
Recommend for well drained sloped roofs (minimum of one inch slope per two feet length). Roofs with ponding water require those areas to be treated with polyurea and then the SUPER SHIELD system. Ideal for use with asphalt, tile, aluminum, steel, copper, plywood, shakes, Styrofoam, concrete and clay.
Prepare surface by thoroughly pressure washing with water and chlorine using at least 1500 psi to remove dirt, debris, mold and foreign material. All mold, mildew and algae must be removed. Apply to a sound, dry roof. Patch holes and cracks with acrylic patching compound or primer and seam tape; encapsulate any rust; and treat ponding areas with polyurea.
Stir well and do not thin. Temperatures must be above 45 degrees Fahrenheit, but not too hot. Do not apply when rain is expected within five hours. Use RHINO SHIELD ADHESIVE PRIMER at 150-300 square feet per gallon for the first coat. Once dry and the primer is translucent, apply two coats of SUPER SHIELD ceramic coating. Apply each coat by brush, roller or sprayer at 100-150 square feet per gallon. Apply the second coat in a perpendicular pattern for optimal water sealing. Never apply two coats in the same day. Allow 12 hours dry time minimum, longer in higher humidity. Do not over apply as product can split while curing.
An airless piston type sprayer with at least one gallon per minute flow rate is required. Minimum tip size is .027. Remove line filters and gun filers before spraying.
